What I've Learn't In Planning

I now have a general idea of how im going to create my magazine,
  • I will be following information from my research of the questionair to make the magazine apropriate for my target audiance.
  1. What People Most Enjoy from a Magazine
  2. The Name
  3. The Images
  4. The Colours
  5. Themes
  6. What Should be Included
  7. The Price
  8. Frequnecy of releases
  9. Who the target audiance should be
  • I will be following my research in to other school magazines.
  1. Composure
  2. Focuses
  3. Iconography
  4. Polysemic (Text)
  5. Mise en Scene
  • I have learn't how to take an image that is apropriate for the subject.
  1. Actors
  2. Composure (mid and long-shot)
  3. Props
  4. Surroundings
  5. Capturig Current Events

The Equipments and Props Used

To take my images, I used an SLR camera to capture a professional appeal in may images for the magazine and to enable me to experiment with composition useing focus and zoom, allowing me to create mid-shot and long-shot images. I also used clip boards, paper and pens so that the students in my images appeared hard at work connoting a higher education level for the school.

Finalising My Images

This image of the front of our school I feel is best location for the front cover photo of my magazine as it shows the school's main building with students in action, which I was lucky to come across, studying at the school. This connetes a school of a higher educated school and with in pleasent surroundings. The image connotes a place of education making the school have a greater atmosphere. However, I have used a long shot composure, if I were to use student as my focus in my image, it should be taken in a mid-shot composure.

The image of our main doors and the hard working students would be good representative image for my magazine cover, It would be a high quality location option as I have used a mid-shot composure including students.

The school quad is a good choice of location because the area is the centre of the school and shows students studying in a calming enviroment, perhaps researching the history of the tree. I have included the tree as it is a good representative for thee school magazine as it has been planted here and remained there for many years. I still would not use this image as it isn't a main district of the school.
I feel that this would be a good location for the cover, for example, if the magazine was targeted towards only 6th form or if an event was held in the 6th form block, this would be a great image. Still the image however does not represent the whole school in which my magazine is going to do. It also does not connote a school of high education.

Focus & Composure

I will be experimenting with both mid-shot composed images & long-shot composed images to present the school surroundings and focusing on current events. It also was a frequent result in my research therefor making the images more successful with my audience.

Costumes/Clothing

I will be using both sixth form students dressed in smart clothing in my images, this will connote a presentable school with a smart uniformed fashin, and I will use younger school students in the Beaverwood uniform as representatives acting as an iconography.

My Magazines Aimed Target Audience

My target audience is clearly going to be towards the students at Beaverwood School For Girls. Therefore I will keep to the colour scheme of the school, for example, green and blue. Also, because of my studies shown in my questionnaire results, I will need to create a magazine appropriate for the ages of 11 to 18, as well as making it appealing for both male and female. Still, I would like to keep a formal approach for the magazine.

First Steps of Planning My Images

The front of our school I feel would be a good location for the front cover photo of my magazine as it shows the school's main building, and the first sight students view when entering the school grounds. The image connotes a place of education making the school have a greater atmosphere. I believe this is my best option and would like this shot in the magazine, however, I would need to use a long shot if I were to use student in my image were as from my research, an image is commonly taken in a mid-shot composure.

The image of our main doors would be good representative image for my magazine cover because it is the front entrance of the school to the reception, It would be a high quality location option if I were to use a mid-shot composure including students.

I will include beaverwood students in my final images in which I believe would be the best idea to represent the school magazine. I would either use a student in our school uniform, or I will use students from the 6th form, and I will be taking the image in a mid-shot composure as the students pose as though they are unaware of the camera.
